Campervan Festival Prep :)

Ok it's July so I better write another blog post! Well, I have been making masks because I have a masquerade ball coming up, and I've also been working on the Tombulance because it needed some maintenance. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, the Tombulance is a transit van (belonging to my brother, Tom) which is in the process of being converted into a camper van. It already has a table and chairs which convert into a bed, but it still needs kitchen facilities and other stuff. It has a solar panel now which will be handy. Unfortunately the old thing is quite rusty, so that's going to be expensive to repair. The bonnet is looking quite worn, I sprayed it with fluorescent yellow but some how this has washed off and looks patchy and faded now. So I've bought a can of bright green and I will re-spray it, then maybe add a coat of fluoro on top. The lettering will need repainting too as it reads "Tombulance" across the bonnet, back to front, in the style of an ambulance. There was a scrape along the side of it so I have re-painted the area over the front left wheel arch. We want to change the back doors, as they were painted in a bit of a rush and not much thought put into them. I like the idea of putting a power ranger on the back. Yeah it's a lot of fun random stuff. It entertains people :)

Basically I want it to be the bestest most awesome thing anyone's been bedazzled by. Well I have seen a lot of awesome painted vans and cars so the competition is hot, but I hope to at least offer something a bit different to the world. Something to break people out of normality, and just brighten up their day. As you can see I was painting late in the evening, that's because this van gets driven to work every day, and various other places, so I don't often get a chance to sit and paint it. We also have to contend with the weather.

The Tombulance will be going to Codefest again this year, and I am sure I will take lots of photos and maybe some video to show those of you who can't make it. It's a very small festival in a field in Dorset, which raises money for charity, so yeah it's all for a good cause! All proceeds go to Julia's House, which is a children's hospice (http://www.juliashouse.org/) in Dorset. There will be over 100 people at the festival, all donating £10 each, and £5 for kids! I intend on bringing my best friend and her 4 little boys, they should love it!!!

The only unfortunate thing to occur is that I have double booked my weekend, so I shall be going straight from the field in Dorset to the masquerade ball on Saturday night. Well, won't I look a picture! :) Besides painting the Tombulance and making masks for the ball, I have also been painting fairies, so stay tuned to hear more about them! ;)

A Coven of Witches

Last year I posted an advert on witchvox calling for local people who would be interested in starting a new coven. Interest has been slowly and steadily growing. I currently have a potential coven of 10 ladies. I'm excited in a nervous kind of way. I am not the most socially confident person. The thought of meeting strangers is quite terrifying. I don't know how many of the potential witches are really up for trying this. I always assume that out of all who express an interest, only half will follow through. Since last year I had a good feeling about May, that this would be the time for new projects. I've proposed a coven meeting in May and so far three individuals have said they would like to meet up. What I worry about is being able to meet everyone's needs, because I want the coven to work for everyone. Partial Eclipse Full Moon in Pisces

The partial lunar eclipse happened when the moon was low in the sky, and there was a fair amount of cloud here. But after the eclipse, the clouds cleared and the moon rose over the rooftops. I had a bonfire lit and locally picked herbs to burn.
